The Line: France Draw Netherlands See the Latest Odds
As with all International Friendlies, I advise keeping the stake at a minimum but in this one its a stronger pick with a bigger price.
Two world class squads come face to face in Stade De Francais when France host the Netherlands. France are going to the World Cup after winning a tough playoff against the Ukraine. Didier Deschamps though has a quality squad with star players Pogba, Cabaye, Ribery, Giroud, Remy and Benzema. A similar squad of talented players thogh traveled to the World Cup in 2002 and 2010 and fell flat but the french did make th finals in both 98 and 2006, this squad looks more similar to the 2006 team than the 2010 team though and if Deschamps can get the best out of this team then France could be really competitive in Brazil.
The netherlands reached the World Cup final in 2010 playing a quality brand of attacking football but unfortunately once they reached the final they resoted to a kicking game against Spain in a poor final which if they had played their own game they could have won. Louis Van Gaal though will have the team play their own style of football and not lower to the tactics of 2010. The dutch were awful in the European Championships of 2012 and I think this world cup they will be looking for redemption at the World Cup in Brazil. With Robben, Snijder, Van Persie, Strootman and Huntelaar there is bundles of talent.
I think this one will be a cagey affair, Internationals though are so hard to tell what is in the mind of the coaches with that said I dont think either manager will want to lose this one and I think for that reason we see the two teams play out an entertaining draw. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
