Cristiano Ronaldo has netted thirteen goals in the Champions League this season two more and he will match Messi's record mark and if Real Madrid win this quarter final surely Ronaldo will have a great chance of breaking the all time mark. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has an abundance of talent at his disposal with Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale all match winners on their day. Real have proven to be a tough nut to crack at home as well conceding in only three of their last thirteen home games with Pepe and Sergio Ramos marshalling the defence.
Borussia Dortmund come into this game missing Robert Lewandowski and without the leading scorer this is a tough ask. Marco Reus reminded us of why he is one of the most sought after young Germans at the weekend scoring a hattrick in a come from behind victory over Stuttgart where Dortmund trailed 2-0 before coming back to win 3-2. Jurgen Klopp's side will come into this game as heavy underdogs but this is pretty much the same team that beat Real Madrid over two legs last season. Lewandowski's absence will be felt tonight though, the Polish center forward scored four times in the two legs last year.
I've broken this down a number of different ways and I keep coming up with the same conclusion Real Madrid should win tonight by two or more. I'm taking Ronaldo and co on the handicap as I think the pace of Ronaldo and Bale on either wing will be too much for Dortmund. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
