Paris St Germaine will come to London without their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich, a loss that is hard to really measure. While Ibrahimovich has been a machine for PSG this season, its safe to say that his replacement Edison Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world in his own right and arguably would have even more goals this season if he was playing through the center in his prefered role. It will be interesting to see how Blanc sets his team up on Tuesday, more than likely the Parisians will come to London and look to hold the advantage they have rather than play expansive football and look for a goal that could kill the tie. With Lavezzi, Cavani, Moura and Pastore its possible that PSG's best defence may be to attack as I'm not sure this defence can hold out against Chelsea, even if the blues dont possess a striker thats in top form.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourhino was understandably upset by the goals conceded by Chelsea in the first leg. In each instance one could say that Chelsea players were close enough to do something to prevent the goals but just failed to do so. Without a clear favourite center forward at the moment, Jose has been playing a rotation of Eto, Torres and Schurrle. I'm not sure this is good for any of the aforementioned's confidence levels but what I am sure of is that Chelsea's midfield is capable of pulling apart this PSG backline. Hazard, Oscar and Lampard will no doubt be eyeing this game as a must win and I think they will hold the keys to the kingdom.
At Stamford Bridge Chelsea have been almost unbeatable under Mourhino. They have in fact never lost a Premier League game at home under Mourhino and I think that there is a huge confidence embeded in Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. PSG are missing Ibrahimovich and while Cavani is an able replacement Ibrahimovich has been having a special season for the Parisians. I'm going to take Chelsea to get a win here, will it be enough to get through to the semi finals? I think it probably just about will be but I wouldnt be surprised to see this game going into extra time and maybe even penalties. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
