On wednesday Everton will play host to Crystal Palace in Goodison Park, Roberto Martinez will be looking to continue the form that Everton are in. Everton have been terrific of late and have won seven on the bounce in the league, that is the form that has led the Toffees to the verge of Champions League football. Its simple for Everton, win all their remaining games and they will be in the Champions League next year, its not an easy task with games against both Manchester clubs but Everton must focus on one game at a time and Wednesday's home game with Crystal Palace is the next up. With Lukaku, Naismith, Mirallas, Coleman and Baines all having career years Everton have been playing terrific football. Roberto Martinez is a manager that wants his team to play attractive football and Everton have oblidged with their destruction of Arsenal one of the best performances of the season.
Tony Pulis has done a remarkable job in turning Crystal Palace's fortunes around. Palace are now more or less safe and considering they were anchored to the bottom of the table when Pulis took over it has been a truly astounding turn around. Jason Puncheon netted yet another winner at the weekend, the midfielder has netted six times this season and is Palace's top scorer. In fact Crystal Palace's main problems this year have been scoring goals as Chamakah with five and Puncheon with six lead the way. The January arrival of Tom Ince and Joe Ledley have definitely helped in the creativity department but it's been Pulis' commitment to strong defence that has turned Palace's fortunes around.
I think Everton will win this one but I think its going to be a low scoring affair so the handicap is hard to back. At evens the unders is the one that appeals. I think 1-0 or 2-0 Everton is the most likely outcome so I am going to take the unders at evens. Seven of the last eight Palace games have gone under the 2.5 goal mark and I think Pulis will set his team up to not concede on Wednesday and that will lead to another low scoring game for Crystal Palace.
