Algeria and Korea Republic will square off in a World Cup matchup on Sunday that will pretty much remove any chance of the loser advancing to the next round.
Algeria played a decent game against Belgium, but it simply wasn’t enough as they lost, 2-1. The biggest concern from Algeria is that they only attempted three goals the entire match and only one of those shots was on goal. However, goalie Adi M'bolhi came up with eight big saves and was part of a defense that held a solid Belgium squad to just two goals on 16 shots. Great defense is something Algeria can take away from the loss and feel good about its chances heading into this match. Offensively, Algeria will need a solid performance from Sofiane Feghouli if it has any chance of winning.

Korea Republic settled for a draw against Russia and could improve its chances of advancing with a win in this match. Korea Republic was aggressive offensively as we expected, getting six of its 10 shots on goal. Lee Keun-ho scored the lone goal for South Korea, but will need a lot more help in order to have a shot of advancing. The one concern for Korea Republic is their conservative defense, as they allowed 16 shots from Russia despite holding the ball for only 48 percent of the match. Look for Kim Bo-Kyung to have a big performance in this match.
When you get as many shots on goal as South Korea did, it’s only a matter of time before some of those balls find the net. Korea Republic seems to have a second gear and the talent to put a team away with a quick goal or two. Algeria, judging by their past performance, they’re going to have a lot of trouble with this matchup and matching Korea’s skill level.
I like Korea Republic to get the fairly easy win.
