Chile and Netherlands will play a World Cup match on Monday that decides which team plays who in the round of 16.
Netherlands dominated Spain in its opening match which was probably the most shocking match in the tournament. They then went on to beat Australia, 3-2. Netherlands has proven to be an offensive machine so far, scoring eight goals in its first two matches. They have an aggressive offense that got off 15 shots against Australia and 14 of them were on target. Robin van Persie, who has scored three goals in the tournament, won’t play in this match due to back-to-back yellow cards. However, it may not be an issue considering it just means more shots for Arjen Robben, who also has three goals in this World Cup. Defender Bruno Martins is also questionable for this match with a concussion.

Chile enters this matchup undefeated and has scored five goals in its first two games. And while the offense is getting a lot of the attention, Chile did flex its muscles defensively by shutting out Spain in a 2-0 victory. In fact, Chile only held the ball for 44 percent of the time and got only four shots on goal to knock off Spain. That just shows the efficiency and quick striking ability of this Chile team. Of course, Eduardo Vargas must continue to be aggressive if Chile is going to sweep this group.
I see a very tight match between these two teams with defense ruling much of the time. Keep in mind, there’s a good chance the winner of this match may play Brazil, something neither team really wants to do in elimination rounds. Defense is going to be turned up and you may see very few shots on goal despite the way both teams are capable of scoring.
I like the value of getting a draw.
