One thing is certain when talking about Manchester City, they have an abundance of superstars in their squad and after an international break Manuel Pelligrini's side have more than their fair share of players coming back to Manchester from all over the globe. Ya Ya Toure arrived a day early to be in contention to start on Saturday but with Aguero, Zabaleta, Toure, all traveling long distances the question will be are they in any fit state to start against a tough team in Tottenham. Manchester City have the strength in depth to rest these individuals if needs be but at the same time as a Manchester City fan you want to see all three in your starting line up every game. Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic form one of the best strike forces in the Premier League, but they will come up against a Tottenham team that have not conceded much this season.
The problem for Tottenham this season has been putting the ball in the net. With Adebayor, Soldado and Kane there is no real clear cut number one for Spurs. Pochettino though is blessed with a talented midfield and Erickon, Chadli, Dembele, Lamela will all chip in with goals given time. In particular former Roma player Lamela has looked like a different player this season, exceling in most matches and being absolutely brilliant in some. I expect Lamela to carry the fight to city on Saturday morning alongside Erickson who is a terrific footballer.
While there is no doubt that the Champions have the better squad here I think Tottenham will remember the embaressing 6-0 loss they suffered at the Ethiad last season and if anything that will serve to remind them of the gap between themselves and the Champions. I just cant see Tottenham making life easy for City in the early morning kick off and I really fancy Tottenham to give Manchester City a good game. The stats all point to a Manchester City win with City winning the last four head to head in the Ethiad but I think that Tottenham are better prepared this season. Pochettino has impressed me with his tactical preparation and I think that with two weeks to get ready for this game he will have come up with a gameplan to frustrate the Champions. I'm going to take the draw at halftime here. I think Tottenham can frustrate City for at least an hour in this one and while Manchester City may get there in the end it will be by the bare minimum.
