While Arsenal were terrific against Galatasaray in the last round of fixtures, the team has fallen into a slump since that win. This game against Anderlecht is coming at the right time for Arsene Wengers men, the question is can they gain some confidence from this game? Danny Wellbeck and Alexis Sanchez are begining to form a partnership that looks capable of threatening the best of teams but most of what Arsenal does well comes through the midfield axis of Cazorla, Ramsey and Wilshire. With Ozil out until january Cazorla is going to get an extended run in the first eleven. This could suit Arsenal's recent play and with the impending return of Walcott and the pace of Oxlade Chamberlain, there is no reason to think Arsenal cant get a big win in Belgium tomorrow.
Anderlecht were unlucky not to win the first round against Galatasaray conceding a last minute goal but the Belgian side were well and truly beaten last time out against Borussia Dortmund. Mitrovich, Suarez and Defour will carry the biggest threat to Arsenal's backline in Brussels. Having lost five home games on the trot in the Champions League its hard to have any confidence in Anderlecht turning that around when they face Arsenal on Wednesday.
I think Arsenal will get a couple of goals in this one, the game as I said already is coming at the right time for Arsenal who need a boost in confidence having failed to win in the last two and being completely outplayed by Chelsea two weeks ago. Take Arsenal -1 on the handicap as the Gunners get a much needed win. Follow me on twitter @antonpippo
