Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) really are ravaged with injury at the moment with Ibrahimovich, Lavezzi and Marquinhos all out. Add to that Edison Cavani missing through suspension and Laurent Blanc basically has no strikers fit to play tomorrow. This could lead to pastore through the center or maybe young french winger Baheback but either way PSG will not be at full strength attacking wise against one of the better defences in the league. The recent return of Thiago Silva to the backline though has helped to shore up the goals and with David luiz also returning from injury midweek we should see a stronger defensive unit at PSG from now on.
While PSG have been somewhat disappointing in accumulating eighteen points thus far Bordeaux have been damn impressive in doing so. Having not spent alot of money Bordeaux have assembled a squad that is competing with the big boys and doing so based on a solid defence and midfied. Former West Ham midfielder Julian Faubert is playing as a utility man this season as far as I can see lining up in center , right back, midfield and on the wings already this season. Bordeaux will bring a duel threat from the wing and center forward in Diabate and Rolan, both have scored four goals this term and will want to test themselves against what should be a very solid PSG defence.
Given the injuries to PSG its hard to see how they could be such heavy favourites. Yes PSG have talent all over the field but center forward is such a key area I just dont think there is any value what soever in the 2/5 offered on a Paris win. Instead I am going to take the draw here. I think Bordeaux have already proven this year that they will be a tough nut to crack and if PSG had all their big guns then fair enough they would deseve to be a 2/5 favourite but with Cavani and Ibra out I can see Bordeaux coming away from the Parc Des Princes with something.
