After watching Liverpool struggle over the last month its just really difficult to see anything but a big win for Real Madrid here. But football is beautiful in this way, anything can happen when the teams cross that white line. Liverpool are embattled, facing alot of criticism, some fair , some unwarranted but one thing for certain is that as a club anytime things have got tough Liverpool have not hidden and I dont expect the team, players or management to hide tomorrow night in the Bernebeau. Stephen Gerrard is a proud captain and a lifelong Liverpool fan, the teams struggles will hurt him more than most but you can be guaranteed a big performance from the club captain tomorrow night in the Berneabeau. Mario Balotelli has come in for some awful abuse in the media in recent weeks but his performances have actually been improving. Given a European referee at the weekend against Newcastle and Balotelli would have had a penalty and gotten one of his opposition sent off for a reckless kick. Balotelli has talent, his application is sometimes questionable but in general when his back has been to the wall he has come out and let his talent do the talking.
It would be naive of me to think that this will be enough for Liverpool to get a win in the Bernebeau on Tuesday night though. Real Madrid have now won eleven games in a row and look almost unstoppable. Cristiano Ronaldo scored for the thirteenth game in a row at the weekend and the Portugese superstar is surely just cruising to his third B'alon D'or and second in a row. With Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale and Rodrigues up front Real are just frighteningly good. Fast, efficient and ruthless. Madrid pounce on mistakes by the opposition and in every game during this run they have just wore down teams, played at a high pace and with so many talented individuals they have created a ridiculous amount of chances. Carlo Ancelotti must struggle to pick his starting eleven such is the wealth of talent at Madrid, considering they offloaded Callejon , Morata and Di Maria in the last two summers its just scary how good this side is.

As you can see I have a grudging admiration for Liverpool as a club and am in awe of this Real Madrid side. I've tried to pick some value from the market here, it is not that easy to extract anything in games like this. Liverpool have the talent to make this one tougher than the bookmakers are expecting though and I am going to take Liverpool on the first half handicap? Why? Well because I think they have the fight in them to put in the effort, pack the defence and make it hard for Real Madrid. Madrid will probably win by a couple but it wont be as easy as everyone seems to think.
