Greek Champions Olympiakos travel to Spain to take on Athletico Madrid. Olympiakos beat Athletico in the opening fixture of the tournament in Greece but this is a much bigger task beating Athletico in Madrid. In fact Athletico Madrid have not lost a League or Champions League game at home since May 2013. Olympiakos know that a draw here may be enough to give them a chance to qualify on the head to head if they can beat Malmo in the last game they would have a better head to head against both Juventus and Athletico. Olympiakos are strong defensively but also possess some quality up front with former Fulham forward Mitroglou, dutch winger Afellay and Swiss midfielder Kasami. Olympiakos are a solid team and this will not be a walkover for last year's beaten finalist Athletico Madrid.
For Athletico Madrid, this is a opportunity to clinch qualification with a win. Diego Simeone will look to Mandzukich and Greizmann as their star players and will be looking for big support from the passionate home crowd at the Vincent Cauldron stadium. Athletico are back up to third in the league after a poor start to the season and but for an unexpected away loss to Real Sociedad would be only a point off top. Led from the back by Godin and Juan fran Athletico will be solid on Wednesday and will be very tough to break down.
This is going to be a battle between two solid defences and one in which both teams may be more afraid of losing that going all out for the win. olympiakos will definitely go to Madrid and set up to not lose, play a 4-5-1 with Mitroglou the lone striker. Athletico themselves will be safety first and ensure they dont lose before going after the win. All in all i see this one setting up for an unders game. Of course history between the teams wa a 3-2 game in Greece in the opening encounter I dont see this being repeated and think this one is more likely to finish 1-0. Take the unders.
