Manchester United travel to Southampton to take on the Saints knowing that they could go third with a win here. The Red Devils have put together a four game winning streak a fifth win here in St Marys against Southampton will move them third and only eight points off the top spot. This is a story of dreams and Louis Van Gaal may be weaving a magic wand here for United. With Wayne Rooney injured Manchester United will turn to Robin Van Persie to lead the team alongside the returning Ramadal Falcao. Everyone involved with Manchester United is looking forward to seeing that three player tandem of Rooney, RVP and Falcao when all three are fit but I think that Van Gaal will give us a small preview of it tomorrow when he starts RVP and Falcao with mata in behind. Injuries to Di Maria and Rooney have been takin in their stride the only question to be answered now is can this United team maintain this run of form.
On the other side of Southampton have lost two in a row to Arsenal and Manchester City which has left them coming back towards Manchester United and the rest of the Champions League chasing pack. Ronald Koeman will be looking for more from his team when they play Monday night at home. Southampton need more from their top scorer Pelle and Shane Long they have failed to spark offensively in the last two games and with those struggles Southampton have looked devoid of ideas. At home though Southampton are 4-1-1 on the season and will be hoping that they can re ignite their season with Monday night football.
Personally I think it is time to jump on the Manchester United bandwagon. Not only have United shown an ability to score the last few weeks but they have also shown that they can defend with two clean sheets in their last four. Van Gaal has an array of talent at his disposal but his most important is David De Gea , the brilliant young Spainish keeper who has been sensational this season. If United are to finish in the top four De Gea will have to continue to marshall that back four and produce the stellar performances he has been producing all season. I am taking United to get the win here at a big price.
