While Ajax and Apoel would have had hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages prior to the draw being made once they both realised they were drawn with PSG and Barcelona those hopes would have dwindled. With both teams now eliminated from the Champions League this game takes a different turn being a winner take all for a place in the Europa League. In my opinion Ajax have the better squad here and should win this game at home in the Amsterdam Arena, Frank De Boar may have discovered the next great European striker this season with the emergence of young Polish striker Milik. With Sigborrsson up front alongside teh young Pole this could be the future of Ajaz for the next five years unless a bigger club raids the side again.
Apoel will be looking for more from Cillian Sheridan and Manduka when they travel to Amsterdam. The pair have struggled to set the world alight in their domestic league as well but Apoel have only scored ine goal in five games and that was from the penalty spot. This is a tough situation for Apoel as they must look to win the game to qualify for the Europa League but it is a very tough ask to go to Amsterdam and come away with a win.
I'm going to take the under here, while I think Ajax just have a better team the lack of goals for Apoel is what inspires the unders. Defensively Apoel have done excellently losing three of their four games by solitary goals in one nil losses. Ajax may get a couple here but I cant see them getting three and I dont think Apoel will score.
