Probably the game of the week in the Champions League will take place in Barcelona on Wednesday when Paris Saint Germain visit the Nou Camp to take on Barcelona. Barcelona have won seven in a row in all competitions since losing back to back in the league. In those seven games Lionel Messi has scored three hat tricks and eleven goals total. If the world had started to think that Ronaldo was a step above Messi has given a timely reminder of his sheer brilliance. If anyone other than Ronaldo or Messi wins the Balon D'or then the competition should cease to exist such is the gap between Ronaldo and Messi and everyother player on the planet. Barcelona can win the group by winning here in the Nou Camp, but the question is are they good enough to beat a Paris Saint Germain team that are unbeaten this season? With Messi, Neymar and Suarez though Barcelona have a trio of attackers that is surely only bettered by their Real Madrid counterparts. Luis Enrique has had some teething problems coming in as a new manager but he has a supremely talented squad. The only problem for Barca is their lack of a solid centre half partnership and defensively they have struggled at times.
When PSG arrive in Spain they will be arriving as a team unbeaten in all competitions. It is an impressive statistic and when faced with their biggest tests this season PSG have found a way to compete even with big injuries to top players like Zlatan and David Luiz. Ibrahimovich is back now though five games, in those five games he has scored four goals. The big Swede is the key man for PSG but he is surrounded by quality with Cavani, Lavezzi, Lucas, Thiago Silva and David Luiz. This is a very talented PSG team and when they faced Barcelona back in September the frenchside were brilliant and they totally dominated the game and deserved their win. Can PSG repeat this in the Nou Camp though?
One of the best games of the entire competiton was the 3-2 game in Paris, this return fixture should be just as enthrawling. Laurent Blanc will want to win the group so a point is the minimum for PSG if they are to achieve that goal. While Barcelona is a tough place to go to I really like this PSG team , I believe they can be included with the top four or five teams in the competition and with Zlatan and Cavani they have world class finishers. I am taking the overs here as PSG have quality attackers and Barca struggle at the back and Barcelona themselves have a terrific attacking trio. This one should be a great game for the neutrals to watch. So sit back and enjoy as we see some of the greatest footballers on the planet go head to head.
