For the second game in a row its simple for Manchester City, win or go home and they must do it this week without their talisman Sergio Aguero who was hurt at the weekend. The loss of Aguero is immeasurable the Argentine has been simply outstanding this season and will be missed in Rome. Manuel Pelligrini must go with Jovetich or Dzeko up top. This will mean that Manchester City's midfield becomes even more important. With Ya Ya toure, Silva, Nasri, Fernando and probably Milner they will not be lacking for effort or creative influence but the question is can Jovetich provide the spark up front against a very solid Roma team?
Roma themselves have conceded only three goals in eight home games all season in Serie A although all three have been conceded in the last two games and let us not forget the 7-1 hammering they received from Bayern Munich earlier this season. With Raul Garcia resting Francesco Totti at the weekend Roma looked devoid of leadership. Daniel De Rossi and Totti will lead the way for Roma who know that a 0-0 or 1-1 will be enough for them to get through. With exciting young players like Ljajic on the wing and Pjanic and Gervinho also available to Garcia I think that for once an italian side may actually go out and attack to look for the win here. I would not have said this up to three weeks ago but Roma have shown real problems defensively in the last three games and the best form of defence might just be attack.
If Sergio Aguero was playing here I would be taking Manchester City, but without Aguero I just dont think City are going to be up to this task. I am taking Roma to get the win that sends them to the knockout stages with Totti, Ljajic, Pjanic and Gervinho I just think they have better strikers and that will be the difference in the end.
