A midlands derby between West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa at the Hawthorns on Saturday, can the baggies turn their recent form around with a derby victory or wil the visiting Aston Villa get their third win in a row? Aston Villa have turned their season right around again, after losing six games in a row Villa are now unbeaten in five and playing with confidence, while they were somewhat lucky to win last time out against Leicester, a win is a win. Christian Benteke's return has been a catalyst for the Villans and he will look to continue his fine form against a West Brom team that has struggled in recent weeks.
West Brom are really struggling up front scoring just one goal in their last five and with Saido Berahino relegated to the bench because of his poor form it is hard to see where the goals are going to come from for Andy Irvine's side. West Brom obviously are having trouble up front and without Berahino's early season form there is every chance that the Baggies would be in the bottom three. Berahino has seven in fifteen this season with no one else in the squad having scored more than three its pretty obvious where the problems lie. Christ Brunt and James Morrision will be key men on Saturday if the Baggies are to get anything from this derby.
On paper this one looks quiet tight but given the recent form I am not sure why Aston Villa are such big underdogs. I am taking Villa on the handicap here and am going to spread a little on the moneyline as well. Villa just look the better team at the moment and the value is there for us to take them even if it is on the road in a derby game.
