Arguably the game of the day in the Premier League comes from Old Trafford where Newcastle take on Manchester United. The Red Devils will be looking to get back on track after a draw with Aston Villa last weekend. That was Manchester United's first dropped points in seven games , with a return to Old Trafford Louis Van Gaal will be looking for another win. Ramadal Falcao returned to the starting line up and scored, with Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Falcao up front United have some serious fire power and will be looking to kick on in the new year. United will be aiming at the Champions League and posibly a run at the title but it will be based on the serious firepower up front and the creative talents of Mata and Di Maria in midfield.
Newcastle have lost their last three in all competitions and three of the last four away from home. Alan Pardew knows his side are better than recent results but their away losses have been comprehensive losing 4-0 and 4-1 in their last two. Perez, Cisse and Cissokho are the main threats going forward for the Magpies and tomorrow they face a porous Manchester United defence who have struggles all season. The only saving grace for Manchester United defensively has been David De Gea who has been magnificent this season. Perez and Cisse will test him tomorrow and this should be another spectacular battle in Old Trafford where De Gea has been magestic this season.
While i am firmly on board the Manchester United faith train I would not be confident in betting the Red Devils at 2/5 tomorrow, not because I think they wont win but more because there is no value in that price. To me the overs look a far better bet here. Newcastle are well capable of getting on the score sheet and i think United will get a win here that will lead to the overs cashing but I think this one could be close to won by half time.
