Tottenham Hotspur will host Sunderland a day after Jermain Defoe the former tottenham striker signed for the Black Cats. It will be interesting to see how Sunderland approach the Defoe situation if he gets clearance to play tomorrow. Defoe has scored on every debut hes made for all five clubs he has played for. Sunderland and Gus Poyet will be looking for another solid away display. Sunderland have only lost one of their last five away games and have only conceded in one of those games against Manchester City. With Wickham , Fletcher and now Defoe Sunderland look to have a strikeforce capable of causing problems for Tottenham and any back line they face in the Premier League.

While Tottenham have won four of their last five home games including a 5-3 victory over Chelsea, they have moved to within three points of fourth and Champions League football. A win here against Sunderland may take them into the Champions League spots at least momentarily as United face a tough away trip and Arsenal dont play until Sunday. Pochettino will look to Harry Kane and Christian Erickson the two players who have led this brilliant recent run of form. The only problem for Tottenham is that they have failed to beat the teams they are expected to beat, like last time out against Crystal Palace when they took the lead but lost 2-1.

What promises to be an interesting tussle here could be decided by a solitary strike. Sunderland have had three 0-0 draws in their last five away games and a 1-0 win against Newcastle. Tottenham have looked solid defensively and they face a tough defence here in Sunderland so i am taking the unders here. That might seem strange with Tottenham's last four of five home games going over but this one looks like a 1-0 to me.
