Queens Park Rangers head north to Sunderland to take on the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night. Rangers are still without a manager after Harry Redknapp left due to personal issues. Redknapp left a team that is anchored to the bottom of the league table and has failed to get even one point from their travels this season. If QPR can manage even a draw tomorrow then Redknapp's successor will hav had more success away from home. QPR are heavily reliant on star man Charlie Austin who has the third best goal tally in the league at the moment. But QPR's abysmal defence has left them with too big a hill to climb on nearly every away trip. Unfortunately for R's fans though QPR are also struggling at home now and look a nailed on certainty for relegation.
Sunderland are having a mini revival of late and are unbeaten in their last four games. The addition of Jermaine Defoe has looked like an inspired decision as he has netted two in his first four games for the club. Defoe has always been a goalscorer just never a prolific one. He will though give Sunderland enough of a cutting edge to avoid the relegation battle this year. Gus Poyet has done a good job in turning things around at the club considering they have a 8-0 loss on their resume this season. Sunderland have actually played really well of late both home and away and have shown a resolute defence during this time.
I get that this line is because this is a relegation six pointer but I just have to take Sunderland at 9/10 here, the value is too obvious to pass up.
