Everton travel to Stoke to take on the Potters in what should be an entertaining game. Stoke have rediscovered their strong home form of late having won three of their last four in the Britannia recovering from an uncharacteristic start to the season which seen them lose four in eight games at home. Mark Hughes side have looked very strong at home recently and Peter Crouch, jonaton Walters, Mame Diouf and Stephen Ireland have all been excellent for the potters of late.Ireland will miss tonights game though having suffered a leg injury which required ten stitches following a poorly timed tackle from Hull City's Figueroa. Stoke will fancy their chances of getting a third win on the trot here though against an Everton team that have been very up and down this season.
Everton come into this game having lost seven of their last eight away games in the Premier League, a shocking record which has led to the Toffee's being in the bottom half of the table for most of the season. Roberto Martinez side played well at times against Arsenal last weekend but they did look a little flat footed and could have been suffereing from having played in Europe on Thursday. With Lukaku and Naismith linking well and Barkley starting to deliver on his potential Everton do have a good team that on paper at least looks balanced. Why Everton have struggled so much this season is hard to work out but alot of the blame has to lie at the feet of the strikers who have only managed eighteen goals between all three of them. Everton's away form is a big worry for Martinez and the fans but like i mentioned previously they have the talent to turn it around.
I think this game is going to be a tight one, I like the value on the draw and I'm going to take that but I am also going to take both teams to score. Lukaku and Naismith will cause problems for Stoke's backline and likewise Crouch at the other end will get chances. a 1-1 draw could be worth investing in for the speculative gambler.
