Game of the weekend in the Premier League will see Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates. Liverpool will certainly be short handed for the game as they are missing Gerrard and Skertel through suspension and the injury prone Daniel Sturridge will miss another month with a muscle injury. This pretty much decimates the heart of the Liverpool side although Gerrard had recently been an impact substitute he is still the club captain and a huge player for Liverpool. Brenda Rodgers must start to look at Raheem Sterling, Balotelli, Henderson and Couthino as his go to players in this massive clash from the top of the Premier League. If Liverpool lose here they could find themselves seven points from the top four with just seven games remaining, probably a gap that would prove to be too big. Sterling has come to a impasse with the club with regard to his contract talks and there is speculation he may be offloaded in the summer with the Emirates a surprise landing spot among some of the top gossip rags. Tomorrow could prove to be an audition if he can put in a perfomance.
Arsenal have won six in a row in all competitions and have been impressive in doing so. Arsene Wenger's squad is finally fit again with Jack Wilshire the only long term absentee. Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Mezut Ozil have been really impressive during this run and Alexis Sanchez while not at the height of his form in recent weeks has the quality that can be the different in these tight games. Former Manchester United striker Danny Wellbeck has also been in excellent form for his country, he scored a couple of big goals recently for Arsenal as well including the winner at Manchester United in the FA Cup. Add in Aaron Ramsay and we can see why Arsenal are favourites for this game and an outside shot at the Premier League title.Chelsea are seven points clear of Arsenal with a game less played but if they blues slip up again the Gunners could feel they have a chance especially as they have to play Chelsea before the end of the season.
Huge game with implications at the top of the Premier League but one that most would say looks set in stone. Arsenal are deserved favourites for this game and I cant come up with any reason to go against Arsenal here. At 17/20 there is a bit of value there as well, with Liverpool's injuries and suspensions I was expecting more of a 4/6 price for an Arsenal win. I'm going to take Arsenal here to get the win and I am also going to spread a little on Arsenal covering the handicap as I think Arsenal's forward line will pick apart this liverpool defence.
