Bayer Leverkusen host Hamburg on Saturday in a game with implications at the top and the bottom of the table. Bayer Leverkusen will look to cement their place in fourth and the last Champions League qualifying spot. Having beaten Schalke inSchalke in their last bundesliga game Leverkusen have opened up a six point game on the team in fifth and they will want to keep it like that with a win here. Leverkusen have a solid team and are very tough to break down especially at home but recently they have also found their scoring boots and Bellerabi, Son and Kiebling will be looking to continue their strong form against a Hamburg team that have been awful on the road and have conceded thirteen in their last three games.
Hamburg are looking in real danger of going down this season they sit just above the automatic relegation places with just a point seperating them from automatic demotion. This entire season has been a disaster for Hamburg and it is really tough to take any positives from the season. Top scorer this season for Hamburg is Rafael van Der Vaart with a mere four goals. This is the reason Hamburg are where they are they just have been unable to score goals, the signing of former Bayern striker Olic has done little for Hamburg with no goals in eight appearances. Former Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has also struggled to make an impact here and to be honest looking at the squad Hamburg have I just dont understand why they are struggling so much. It happens though and we have to make decisions based on form.
Taking Bayer Leverkusen -1 here, they have just been lethal against the bottom teams and have been so good at putting teams away at home. I do think Hamburg are better than their league position but with their struggles in front of goal I cant see how they keep up with a really good Leverkusen team.
