Huge game for Leicester City on Saturday as they host West Ham United at the King Power Stadium in a game the foxes simply MUST win. Set adrift at the bottom of the table Leicester are now seven points from safety and they simply have to win here to give themselves a chance of survival, there are only nine games left for Leicester to save themselves, my best guesswork is that Leicester must win six of those nine to stay up. Probably not even guaranteed to stay up if they win six but I think that will be the magic number for Leicester if they can manage it. There is no doubt that Nigel Pearson's side have one of the biggest battles on their hands that any Premier league team faced but they will go into this game against West Ham and focus on just getting the win here. Goals are going to be key for Leicester, defensively they have been doing just fine, not conceding many but they havent had enough goals and will be hoping Nugent and Ulloa find their form in these last nine games.
West Ham have struggled recently losing three of their last four but with a striker like Sakho in their line up West Ham have the quality to win any game. Song, Nolan and Noble and Downing are the inspiration in midfield and they will be looking to set Sakho free when they get the chance. Sam Allardyce has done a decent job at West Ham. I think that at the end of this season he will probably find his way out of Upton Park but Big Sam will be looking to keep the pressure on the owners by finishing the season strong.
This is a terrible game to try to handicap, all the pressure is on Leicester as they must win to give themselves a chance to survive but on the other hand West Ham already have little to play for as they are not going to finish much higher with an eleven point gap between them and seventh. i am going to take Leicester just because I think they simply have to win. It's not a strong play but they game itself should be worth watching just to see the tension in the stands and on the pitch, it is the business end of the season and this is generally when the madness happens.
