Liverpool host QPR on Saturday with both teams at opposite ends of the table. Liverpool are fighting for a European place and QPR are struggling for survival. The reds have been poor of late and have won only one of their last five Premier League games. With Daniel Sturridge off to America to get surgery on his troublesome hip, it looks like Sterling and Balotelli will get a chance to fill his boots. The Balotelli experiment has not really worked out for Liverpool with the former Manchester City and Ac Milan striker really struggling to score and just not finding a groove with the reds. Liverpool have an outside chance of getting a Champions League place but must surely win all their remaining games. Having lost to Hull on tuesday though I think the team, the fans and the pundits have given up on liverpool breaking into the top four. Brendan Rodgers side have been really poor over the last week but maybe a return to Anfield willl bring with it a return to form.
For QPR it is simple, they must win. QPR are running out of games with just four left and four points from safety the R's simply must win. Charlie Austin missed a penalty at home last week against West Ham and at the end of the season those two points could prove to be the difference between staying up and going down. Either way though QPR simply must find a way to win in Anfield tomorrow. QPR will have to trust in their midfield led by Joey Barton and their attack led by second highest scorer in the league in Charlier Austin.
With Liverpool being really awful at the moment I cant help but look at the 8/1 about the QPR side as being value. Instead though I am going to take QPR +1 on the handicap, I think QPR might struggle to score the goals to win the game but I do think they wont lose. Liverpool's struggles scoring goalsis real and unless Balotelli suddenly finds form I think this is going to be another game here Liverpool struggle.
