The return of Pep Guardiola to the Nou Camp will be an emotional one for both the Bayern Munich manager, the players he used to coach in Barcelona and the fans. Guardiola presided over the most successful spell in Barcelona's history and there is no doubt he will be welcomed to the Nou Camp with a rousing reception by the fans but there is also a very important game here on Wednesday night and the home team must get a win to bring with them to the Allianz Arena in Munich for the second leg. Barcelona rebuilt their team this past summer and the additions of Rakitic and Suarez are really starting to pay dividends. Suarez, Messi and Neymar have been terrific this season and the form of Luis Suarez in particular has been game changing, the former Liverpool striker took a while to settle but he has ten goals in his last eight games and is the perfect focal point up top for Barcelona with Neymar and Messi on either side. Barcelona have been really impressive lately and they will look to continue this form on Wednesday against a Bayern Munich side that embaressed them 7-0 on aggregate last time these two met in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich were cruising along and have won the Bundesliga already, but just recently injuries have threatened to derail their season. Arjen Robben was brought on in a Cup Semi final last week with Bayern leadin 1-0 in what in essence was a game that was not very important in the larger scheme of things. Robben hurt his previously injured Calf again and looks in danger of missing the rest of the season but will definitely be out tomorrow night.Frank Ribery is already ruled out and Pep decided to rest all his big guns last weekend in case of more injury worries. Lewandowski, Muller and Goetze will present the attacking threat for Bayern though and it is quite an attacking threat. Bayern have an explosive offence but without the aforementioned Robben and Ribery they are not the same. Former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alacantra will anchor Bayern's midfield and this will be his first game back at the Nou Camp, with Schweinsteiger and Lahm also in midfield this is a Bayern team that knows how to win but they also have the experience to know how not to lose.
Two terrific sides go face to face on Wednesday and while I think Barcelona will probaby just edge the game I am going to take both teams to score. Even without Robben and Ribery Bayern have a frightening offence and they face a Barcelona rearguard that while Impressive at times still have big question marks over them. For me Both teams to score is the play and for those looking for a bigger price Barca to win and Both teams to score.
