The 2015 Copa America will be a star studded event and here at Sports Chat Place we want to give you all the information on the twelve teams taking part we will have a team profile each day and will of course cover every game of the tournament and provide tips and predictions for tournament bets, group bets and individual match bets. In our eighth installment we look at invitee's Mexico who will bring a mixture of youth and experience without most of their star European based players.
Manager: Miguel Herrerra
Captain: Andres Guardado (Verona)
Star Man: Raul Jiminez (Atletico Madrid)
Key Player: Rafael Marquez (Verona)
It appears as if Mexico are looking to the Gold Cup as their big tournament of the summer as they leave Hernandez ( Manchester United ) Vela (Real Sociedad) and the Dos Santos brothers (Villareal) out of their Copa America squad. With a group that really gives them a good chance of progressing I think Mexico have a decent chance of making the quarter finals. Former Barcelona center half Rafa Marrquez will bring experience and discipline to the side and should be able to keep this young Mexican squad focused on the job at hand.
Mexico looked out of sorts against Brazil last weekend but gave a good enough account of themselves, this is going to be a tough competition for Mexico with their stars not involved but the likes of Jimenez from Atletico Madrid will get a chance to lead the line and prove himself here. Miguel Herrerra has been known to be slightly eccentric as a manager but I expect his side to perform well as the team did in the World Cup last year. I think they manage to advance to the quarter finals but come up short in quality them.
