The Republic of Ireland take on Scotland in the Aviva Stadium with both teams desperate to get a win and stay in touch with Germany and Poland. Martin ONeill will look to Shane Long and Daryl Murphy to lead the line for the Republic of Ireland and Everton's James McCarthy, Scottish born but if Irish descent will be a key man for the Republic. This is a huge game for Ireland and they simply must get a win or they are in danger of falling behind at the top of the group. Ireland played poorly in Scotland in the reverse fixture so they will be looking for improvement here in what is in essence a derby game with both teams being so close in proximity.
Scotland come to this game in great form having won four of their last five games. Gordan Strachan will be looking for his side to get another win which will put them in prime position to qualify from this group. With Fletcher and Naismith up front Scotland have the quality to cause problems for Ireland but this game will be won in midfield where Scott Brown, Maloney and Anya will have a big job matching up with their Irish counterparts in a hostile Aviva stadium. Scotland know that if they dont lose here then they are in control of their own destination. This is going to be a big test for Scotland.
Tough one to call here I think Ireland will put in 100% here but likewise Scotland will be confident they can come to the Aviva and get a result. Im certain that we should have an entertaining game and am going to take both teams to score here, not a huge play as both are defensively minded but I just think that Ireland need the win here and Scotland will come to Dublin looking to get a result.
