One of the favourites of the competition Brazil kick of their campaign against a talented Peru team on Sunday evening. With Neymar the captain and star man Brazil have a squad that can win the competition. Brazil are trying to regain some respect after their humiliation at the World Cup where they lost 7-1 to Germany. With Chelsea's Willian becoming a big part of Brazil's game plan Brazil play with more pace and directness than last summer. Brazil have a tremendous squad here and look like a better balanced team than the one that disappointed at the World Cup. With Willian, Oscar, Fernandinho and Neymar there is attacking talent and tough tackling midfielders, a defence marshalled by the PSG pair David Luiz and Thiago Silva and attacking wings backs in the form of the brilliant Dani Alves of Barcelona.
Peru are one of those teams that are under rated in my opinion, they will be tenatious in the tackle here and will sit deep and defend but with attacking players like Pizarro and Far Fan they have players that can hurt teams on the counter attack. While it is difficult to envisage Peru managing to get a result against Brazil I think they are capable of causing an upset in this tournament. Far Fan after a frustrating season with Schalke will be looking to get his side on track here and will definitely get at a Brazil back line that is definitely suspect.
At the moment it is very hard to see any value in the 7/20 about Brazil here, yes they should win but this Copa America has already shown that the underdogs can cause upsets (Paraguay gettng a draw with Argentina yesterday) and I am going with a different route. Going to take both teams to score here. Peru have the attacking players to get on the score sheet and I cant see Peru holding Brazil scoreless. Small stakes here but still worth an investment.
