France and South Korea meet Sunday in the round of 16 in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

France beat Mexico and England, winning group F to get to this point. France has dominated ball possession in each of its first three matches and has played elite level defense. France has allowed just eight shots total and only four of those have been on target. While controlling the ball has helped its defensive effort, France makes it extremely difficult to get good looks by loading the box and getting back to the other end of the field quickly. Offensively, Eugenie Le Sommer leads France with three goals, while Amandine Henry and Marie-Laure Delie have combined for the other two goals. France has had double-digit shot attempts in all of its matches but is going to make a real run for a title with its defensive effort.

2015 FIFA Women's World Cup: France vs. South Korea Pick, Odds, Prediction - 6/21/15

South Korea forced a draw against Costa Rica and beat Spain to advance to this match. South Korea simply finds ways to hang around, and it starts with an offense that moves the ball well and is patient to find a quality shot. South Korea has just 12 shots on target in its three matches, but four of those have found the back of the net. Another thing South Korea has going for it is that four different players have scored those goals, including Jeon Ga-eul and Cho Sohyun. South Korea’s defense has limited quality looks for the most part, but has allowed 29 shots overall in its last two matches. Kim Jungmi has four saves and has allowed five goals, a performance that must improve. South Korea must be better on the defensive end if it’s going to advance in this tournament.

France will look to push the pace against South Korea and control the match, limiting the Koreans chances to find the back of the net. South Korea must be sharper on the defensive end if it’s going to have a shot.

I haven't been that impressed overall with France, but I think it will get the job done. However, I like South Korea to keep it close, which is why I'm taking the free goal.
