Arguably the tie of the quarter finals will be the first one on Wednesday night as defending Champions Uruguay face host nation Chile. Chile will be looking to their experienced stars Vidal and Sanchez to lead them to a semi final. Juventus star Vidal has been majestic for most of the tournament scoring three goals in two and a half games thus far and being the center piece around which Chile's attack is focused. With Arsenal striker Sanchez playing more of a link role and providing the assists Chile have found a balance that works and one that should serve them well against uruguay. There is depth in the chile squad with Vargas also a goal threat and Sampaoli had the luxury of being able to rest both Vidal and sanchez for the second half against Bolivia.

Uruguay come into this game boosted by the return of captain Diego Godin who missed the last group game with Paraguay through suspension. The brilliant Atletico Madrid defender will be a key figure if Uruguay are again to defy the odds and triumph here. Missing Luis Suarez is really a loss that has been too much for this Uruguay squad to absorb, they have played quite well but against Argentina they were missing that bit of bite up front (pardon the pun) and Edison Cavani has been really unable to grab the center forward role and make it his own. In addition Cavani's father has been involved in a fatal car crash in which a 19 year old motor cyclist died and there is doubt over whether Cavani will even play in the game. This is a good squad though that wont be easily beaten and they will not roll over for Chile.

Chile vs Uruguay 06/24/2015 Copa America Preview, Odds and Prediction

I'm convinced that it is going to take extra time to seperate these two so I am taking the draw. I think that Chile have struggled against the better defences over the last couple of tournaments and Uruguay's strength is their defence. Uruguay may take this one to penalties. There will be no extra time if the game finished level so there will be plenty of tension if this one is close in the last ten minutes as everyone knows penalties are a lottery. Take the draw though as it represents terrific value.
