D.C. United and Toronto FC square off early Saturday afternoon at the BMO Field.
D.C. United looks to keep rolling after winning three of its last five matches. D.C. United is running away in the Eastern Conference, and it starts with a defense that’s allowed just 17 goals in 19 games played. D.C. United has allowed one or less goals in 16 of its matches, and Bill Hamid has come away with 56 saves and has allowed just two goals in his last three starts. Chris Rolfe leads D.C. United with six goals, Fabian Espindola has five assists and Chris Pontius has 25 shot attempts. D.C. United has been shutout just four times this season and has scored at least two goals seven times. D.C. United has also won five of its last seven trips to BMO Field.

Toronto FC also looks to stay hot after winning three of its last four matches and climbing up the ladder in the East. Toronto FC is an offensive team that’s scored 23 goals in 19 matches and scored at least two goals in seven games. Sebastian Giovinco leads Toronto FC with eight goals, Benoit Cheyrou has four assists and Michael Bradley has 27 shot attempts. Defensively, Toronto FC has allowed 19 goals and pitched just three shutouts. Chris Konopka and Joseph Bendik each have 25 saves, and Konopka has allowed three goals in his last two matches. However, Toronto FC has allowed one or less goals in three of its five matches this season, so the defense has been better in front of its home fans.
Toronto FC has been a better team at home, but D.C. United has been the best team overall in MLS and has had great success playing at BMO Field. This matchup should be interesting.
There's value to D.C. United given that its the better team here. But if forced to pick, I'm siding with the under. I think the goalies show up for this one and play a rather slow game.
