Monday night football returns as the English Premier League comes to us from the Hawthorns stadium in the midlands where West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to stifle Manchester City's new look offence. West Brom manager TOny Pulis has always been excellent at gettting something from home games in the league no matter where he has managed so we can expect a tough test for Manchester City here on Monday night. West Brom have a nice side with some good players joing this summer, Gnabry on loan from Arsenal, Chester from Hull and McLean from Wigan. Tony Pulis will have his side all fighting hard and they will definitely work their socks off, as all Pulis sides do.
Manchester City got themselves a terrific young English winger in Raheem Sterling, his signing brings a new dimension to Manchester City and brings them that really pacey winger that they need to compete at the top level in Europe. With Sergio Aguero and David Silva along with Ya Ya Toure this is a side that will be very tough to beat and who to me look like they can score alot of goals.Manuel Pellegirini is going to be under presure to deliver this year both domestically and in Europe. Manchester City for all their recent success in the league have still yet to have an impact in Europe's premier competition. I think this is a game that is going to be very tough to call. West Brom have the team that is capable of frustrating Manchester City, hard work and good tactics from Pulis could well get West Brom a point here.
After a weekend of shocks Chelsea drawing with Stoke, Arsenal losing to West Ham could we really have another shock here on Monday night? I am going to take the home dogs West Brom +1.5 on the handicap, I think this is going to be a huge test for Manchester City and I havent seen enough from City in pre season to think they can cover the handicap here. West Brom will make this really tough and will work hard for each other, the Hawthorns is a tight ground as well and there will be a terrific atmosphere on Monday night.
