One of the games of the weekend in the English Premier League will see Arsenal host Liverpool in Monday night football, Arsene Wenger's side have had a mixed bag of results with a win and a loss. The Gunners were terrible when losing the opening weekend to West Ham and Wenger needs to get his side focused on the job at hand as they face a Liverpool team that have won both of their opening games so far this season. With a talented squad Wenger knows this side is capable of competing for the League title. With Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez and Giroud there is plenty of attackign talent here and Arsenal will look to open up Liverpool and be the first team to score against the Reds this season.
Brendan Rodgers side have not been impressive in their opening two games but they have gotten results, something they were not doing last season and have shown a steel that wasnt there last year. Christian Benteke and Philip Couthino have both scored winners for Liverpool in games where they were second best for long periods. The Reds though have definitely improved defensively this season but they are yet to face a quality attacking team like Arsenal. Liverpool will probably look to play a 4-5-1 game on Monday and contain Arsenal's midfield by packing the midfield and denying Arsenal the space to create in midfield.
This should be a really good game and should be tactically interesting. Liverpool come into this one with two wins and Brendan Rodgers may set up his team to play for a draw here, a draw at the Emirates would be a good result for this Liverpool side. Arsenal on the other hand will be desperate to get a win here and move themselves back up the table. Arsenal have quality throughout and probably look to have a little more attacking talent that Liverpool right now. Not my favourite play of the weekend but I do think Arsenal are the better team here and I am going to take Arsenal -1 on the handicap, this is the first chance for Arsene Wenger's team to make a statement against a potential challenger for the top four, i think they will win this one by a couple.
