Both of these clubs could really do with a win although Aston Villa's opening weekend win over Bournemouth has kept them mid table the Villans have been pretty poor since that game creating nothing against Manchester United in a home loss and struggling for most of the game against Crystal Palace but only conceding a late goal to lose that one. Aston Villa's problems to me at least look to be at the top end of the field where it is not really clear who is going to score the goals needed for them. The sale of Christian Benteke was a hammer blow to Aston Villa and Tim Sherwood. Jordan Ayew has come in but he looks more like a winger who may score 8-10 goals than a 20 goal striker that Benteke was/is. Agbonlahor will still be the key man up top for Villa and Grealish , Sanchez and Gestede will be the creative influences behind.

Sunderland look at the moment completely out of sorts. Dick Advocaat looks certain to be the first manager to either leave or be sacked after criticing the owners for not bringing in quality players in the summer. The one thing that Sunderland do have though is quality up front with Fletcher and Defoe two quality finishers. Jack Rodwell seems to be getting back to his Everton form and the Sunderland boss perhaps stumbled upon his best formation midweek with a 4-5-1 tactics looking very promising. The Black Cats are one of those teams that one their day can be excellent, they have solid defenders and in Cattermole, Larsson, Rodwell they have quality midfielder who have both creativity and toughness.

For me this is one of those games that could go either way and I know that Sunderland have struggled thus far but so have Aston Villa. I think Sunderland +1 looks real value to me and I will spread a little on the Sunderland moneyline as well as their quality up front should be the difference maker here.
