A must win game for both teams as Turkey and the Netherlands struggle to survive in the chase for qualification for the Euro's. After losing 1-0 to Iceland on Thursday the Netherlands are now six points off second place and eight points off top in the Group the dutch simply must win tomorrow and all of their remaining games and hope that the Czech Republic slip up of they want to qualify automatically. After sacking Gus Hiddink the dutch FA installed Danny Blind as manager and he started a new look dutch team last time out with no Van Persie and with Robben and Sneijder sitting in behind huntellar. An early sending off ruined the game for the dutch and it is hard to gauge how things were going prior to this pivotal moment but one thing is for certain Netherlands must find a way to win on Sunday.
Turkey sit a point behind the Netherlands in the Group and know that their fate is in their own hands but they have the toughest run in having to play the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Iceland in their last three games. This is a talented Turkish team but they struggle at time to put teams away and that was evident at the weekend when they failed to beat Latvia. Turan is the best player in this Turkish side and the Barcelona midfielder is lacking game time as he signed for Barcelona but cant play till January. Some solid players to compliment Turan in Yilmaz and Bulut but the Turkish will fancy their chances of getting at a Netherlands defence that has really struggled since the World Cup.
The dutch have been so bad in qualifying up to now that I am really tempted to take them on here but having looked at the squads I just cant. Given that this is a must win game I think players like Robben, Sneijder , Depay will step up and I think Robin Van Persie will be a key player if the Netherlands are going to get through this tough fixture. New Manager Blind is going to have to try pairing Huntelaar and Van Persie I feel to try to get the best out of both players. I am taking the Netherlands to get the win here.
