As the top two in the Premier League this should be a riveting encounter and although the season is young and teams have still to find themselves I think it is fair to say that Crystal Palace and Manchester City deserve to be where they are in the Barclays Premier League table. Palace have been excellent so far, underlined by their terrific 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge against the Champions Chelsea last time out. Alan Pardew has brough in some quality players and in Cabaye they have a truly world class game manager who would fit in at any of the supposed top four clubs in England and the question has to be asked as to why one of them did not try to sign him. Up front Palace have a trio with Pace power and skill, Bolasie, Zaha and Gayle are going to be tough to manage no matter who the opposition and although Manchester City have been pretty solid defensively I think this Palace side will be able to cause them problems.
For Manchester City they are heavily reliant on the brilliance of Sergio Aguero up front with Dzeko and Jovetich allowed to leave in the summer. Silva, Sterling and Toure have provided assistance from midfield thus far though and Wilfred Bony has proven to be an excellent impact sub for the Citizens. This is a tough game though and Manuel Pelligrini will know that his side face one of the most inform teams in the league on Saturday and a team that is actually built to play against the possession football of the top four teams. Crystal Palace are a team designed to sit back absorb the pressure and then counter at pace with the ability of their wingers and midfielders the key.
While there are a few games that are going to get a bigger billing this weekend - Everton vs Chelsea and Manchester United vs Liverpool, I believe this one right here might be one of the games of the weekend. I took Crystal Palace +1 against Chelsea last time out and at another generous price here I'm taking them again. At worst I think we walk away with a push but I have a feeling that Crystal Palace will take something from this game and I wouldnt be surprised at all if it was a win.
