A trip to La Paz for Uruguay and without their star strikers Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani who are both suspended for the opening two games of their qualifying campaigns. Uruguay though have quality players and will be led by the strong captain Diego Godin who is a great influence across the board for Uruguay. With Rolan, Hernandez and Stuani up front though it is not like Uruguay are going to be strikerless. Hernandez in particular has had a terrific start to the season scoring five goals in eight games for Hull. Uruguay though face a tough task here as the game in La Paz is played at an extraordinary altitiude and definitely gives Bolivia and advantage over their opponents.
Bolivia in fact only lost two home games in the last qualifying campaign and had a win over Uruguay in the competition. Bolivia will look to Moreno, Cardoza and Raldes to lead the line for their attack, midfield and defece respectively. Bolivia played quite well in the Copa America but came up short in the last 8 against a very strong Peru team. Bolivia will again look to take advantage of playing their games at 3,000m above sea level and it is for this reason that Bolivia are favoured against such a strong Uruguay side.
Given the little nuances of this game I am going to go with the draw here. Uruguay are the better side but at this altitude level Boliva have a distinct advantage while I think Uruguay were caught on the hop last time they played in La Paz I think they will be better prepared here for this game.
