Simple for the Netherlands win or any chance they have of qualifying is gone. They face a Czech Republic team that has already qualified for the knockout stages of the Euro's . The Netherlands need to win on Tuesday and hope that Turkey lose at home to Iceland. New netherlands manager Blind has tried to get the balance right but has struggled to settle on his best team, a problem his predecessor also had. Huntelaar seems the form man to lead the dutch but Robin Van Persie is a big game player and it is difficult to leave the former Manchester United man on the sideline. Sneidjer, Blind, De Pay will play the creative provider role but the dutch as a whole have struggled during this qualifying campaign and hence the reason they are likely to miss out. Two losses to Iceland and a loss to Turkey has left the Netherlands needing help to qualify and with a group this talented it will be a shame if the dutch do not make it to France 2016.
The Czech Republic are already guaranteed their spot in the Euro's and they come into this game with little to gain, they most definitely did not put out their first team on Saturday night and are unlikely to play Cech or their first team regulars at the Amsterdam Arena on Tuesday. The Czech Republic have already qualified though and can not be blamed for not over extending their starters. The Czech's will fulfill the fixture but with Turkey likely to pick up the poitn they need from Iceland at home this game could in essence be a futile exercise from the dutch.
I think the Dutch will go out and get the job done though just in case Turkey slip up against Iceland. We have to assume that a team of this talent can come good on the day especially agaisnt what will essentially be the Czech Republic's second team. So I am taking the Netherlands -1 on the handicap as I see them finish the campaign strongly even if may not matter.
