Friday night football from Ligue 1 will see Lyon travel to Monaco in what should be one of the games of the weekend in France. Lyon come into this game off the back of a home win against Reims. Lyon have struggled on their travels recently though failing to win in their last three away games and losing 3-1 to Bordeaux in their last Ligue 1 away game. Lacazette has started the season well and has three goals in seven games, Fekir had a terrific start to the season with four goals in four games but unfortunately he suffered a knee injury that looks likely to rule him out for the rest of the season. Lyon though with Beauvue and Lacazette will cause problems for teams and it will be interesting to see how they do against a Monaco team that have struggled at times defensively.
Monaco have struggled at home this season with just two points from four games and will be missing center half and team leader Carvalho. Monaco actually have the worst home record in Ligue 1 this season and still sit in sixth in the table, while I think their home form is more of an abhoration than a reality I think that Monaco themselves will be looking to get a win here against a team that pushed them all the way last season. Lyon have had a tough start to the season themselves and only two points seperate the teams. Having sold Anthony Martial to Manchester United, Monaco are now looking for his replacement among their own youngsters. Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar and El Sharawaay will be charged with replacing MArtial's goals and so far Lemar has looked like the most likely replacement with three goals in seven games.
This one should be a really entertaining game, I wouldnt put much faith in either defence here though and I am goign to take both teams to score as a result. I think Monaco dont really justify favouritism here though and I would be considering Lyon on the handicap if I was taking a side. The value though for me is on both teams to score.
