A vibrant Manchester United team will travel to Moscow in confident form after their best performance of the season a 3-0 win away to Everton. Juan Mata, Martial , Herrera and Rooney were excellent in a win at Goodison Park in a game that proved Louis Van Gaal's side are improving. Having addressed the issues that were glaringly evident in the loss to Arsenal Van Gaal made the tough decisions dropping Depay for Herrera seemed to strengthen the team and while Depay is young and will definitely get chances to improve and win his place back he must buy into Van Gaal's philosophy of team first. Manchester United are a team on the up and they will face Manchester City next weekend in the biggest game in the Premier League with the winner likely to be top on Sunday evening. United got off to a rough start in this years Champions League losing to PSV in Holland and lsoing Luke Shaw in the game to a broken leg. A win here in Russia would be a huge result but it wont be easy as CSKA are a tough team to play against.
With CSKA and Russia manager Slutsky double jobbing at the moment it is impressive that his side are top of the Russian league by five points. A quality strike force with Musa and Doumbia will provide a stern test to Chris Smalling and Manchester United's defence and they will also face a former Red Devil in Tosic a creative winger/midfielder who didnt quite make it at Old Trafford but who has proven to be a huge success with CSKA. This is a good side, hard working, physically tough to play against and with the weather expected to be close to freezing at kickoff this is not going to be an easy game for Manchester United.
Tough one to call here CSKA are a good side and they proved to be a very tough team to beat last season taking points off Manchester City and Roma in the group stages and only losing by a sollitary goal against Bayern Munich. I think this one will be very tight and I think that the draw looks value at the current prices. Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal may be happy with coming away from this one with a point in expectation of being able to take all three back in Old Trafford.
