oddsSouthampton are one of the form teams in the Premier League and they come into this game against a Bournemouth team that are really struggling at the moment. Southampton are a team that have deceptive ability in my opinion. Ronald Koeman has built a side here capable of being in the top four without what I would call a superstar player. The team is built around work ethic and everyone giving 100%. Tadic, Mane and Pelle are the key figures going forward although the Saints will be welcome back Mane after he missed the midweek League Cup win over Aston Villa through suspension. Southampton have been up and down at home in the league with two losses two wins and a draw. Ronald Koeman though will be looking for his side to get a win that will take them into the top six.
With Bournemouth having lost four of their last five the newly promoted side are falling very close to the relegation zone and in danger of slipping into a relegation battle that they are going to find it very difficult to scramble out of. Bournemouth have lost four of their five away games as well in the league this season but really their season has been bookmarked by injuries with Gradel, Wilson and Mings all lost to injury for the season. Bournemouth are going to need Matt Ritchie, Glenn Murray and Distin to step up to replace the aformentioned, especially Murray who will need to replace Wilson's goals. Eddie Howe will look to get his side some points here and will set up defensively as they did in the League Cup at Liverpool.
Hard to look past Southampton here although the odds are not enough value for me to take the Saints straight up here. I think the overs are a much better bet, for while Bournemouth may try to keep it tight each of theri last four away games have gone over the mark in the league and Southampton themselves have been free scoring of late, especially at home. At evens for over 2.5 goals that looks alot of value for me.
