Two weeks removed from Arsenal's terrific win against Bayern Munich we will have a rematch at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich had not lost a game yet this season until Arsenal punished them for being wasteful in front of goal. Thomas Muller, Douglas Costa and Robert Lewandowski were all guilty of wasting chances at the Emirates but Pep Guardiola's side will welcome back the brilliant dutch winger Arjen Robben for his first Champions League game of the year. Bayern come into this game off the back of a disappointing draw at Frankfurt, Bayern are one of the deepest squads in Europe though and will look to get a win here that would almost guarantee them qualification to the next phase. If Munich sli[p up again and Arsenal manage a win here this would mean than Munich have to win both remaining games to guarantee qualification.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger comes into this game knowing that his side probably need something against the German Champions to give themselves a chance of qualification. It was clear before the last game at the Emirates, lose and Arsenal were out of the competition but even with their historic win against Bayern a win for Olympiakos in Zagreb has left Arsenal on the precipice, a loss here against Bayern would leave the Gunners in a very precarious position needing two wins in their last two games and even then that might not be enough for qualification. Injuries to Theo Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain wont really effect Arsenal as much as some might try to say. Ozil, Cazorla and Sancehz are the key players and the most important player for the Gunners will be Olivier Giroud and how he handles playing up top on his own. This is a good Arsenal team and this is a test of how good they are. Can they go to Germany and get a result?
I picked Arsenal to get something from the first game and thought Arsenal +1 was one of the best bets of the fixtures in the last round. I cant help but feel the same way about Arsenal on Wednesday. I think Wenger has improved tactically over the last few years and rather than go to Munich and try to win I think he will play a counter attacking system similar to that he played at the Ethiad last season agaisnt a more talented Manchester City. Arsenal are a tougher proposition these days and I think they will get something from this game. Also Bayern at 2/5 is just not value, getting a goal head start with Arsenal is definitely risky but I think it's a better play here and one I am willing to take.
