The two bottom teams in the qualifying campaign come face to face in La Paz 4,000metres above sea level where the home team Bolivia have had a great record in recent years but started off this campaign with a loss to Uruguay. Bolivia have one of the better international home records due to their play at altitiude level that puts their opponents under extreme pressure. Bolivia though have a much changed looking line up from the team that made it to the quarter finals of the Copa America. Under their new manager Baldivies Bolivia have adopted a 5-4-1 formation that really hasnt served them well thus far, losing experienced players like Raldes and Moreno has definitely put the team back but given their home advantage here they will alwasy be slight favourites against teams like Venezuela.
Venezuela for their part have had a tough start to the qualifying campaign with a loss to Paraguay in a game they could have gotten something and then a trip to an embattled Brazil who played very well on the night. WIth WestBromwich Albion striker Rondon leading the line though Venezuela will always have a chance in games like this one which should only be seperated by the minimum. I think that Venezuela will fancy their chances here even if they are playing at 4,000m above sea level. This is a game that could well be decided by one piece of brilliance and if it comes down to that I would expect Rondon to produce it.
Going to take the away side here to get something from the game. Venezuela +1 on the handicap looks a relatively decent bet and I think giving the strength of both teams squads the away side have just that little bit more here and should be able to handle the tough conditions and pick up at least a point on their travels.
