One of the glamour friendlies of the week will see Germany looking to get back to winning ways on Tuesday in Hannover when they face a Netherlands team that finally won a game after a terrible qualifying campaign. The Netherlands will be missing Arjen Robben who played the full 90 minutes against Wales and scored the winning goal. The brilliant Bayern Munich winger is a huge loss to Blind's side but will be replaced by Memphis Depay the young Manchester United winger who produces his best form when in the Oranje jersey these days. The Netherlands have quality throughout the side and with a couple of their team based in Germany they will have plenty of knowledge of their opponents. Both Dost and Huntelaar should get game time on Tuesday against a German backline that struggled to deal with the presence of Giroud on Friday night.
Germany of course come into this game off the back of a defeat to France but that game pales into insignificance in realtion to the events that unfolded on Friday night. There is no doubt the German players will have been effected by the events and it's hard to know what sort of mental state they will be in aheead of this friendly. Manager Lowe is likely to ring the changes and I expect a somewhat second string team to get a game here to see how they match up to the dutch. Draxler, Gomez and Muller started on Friday and struggled with a lack of pace and the creativity of Reus and Ozil were clearly missing. While Germany are current World Champions they have struggled for form and have lost two friendlies at home to the United States and Argentina.
I think that both teams look like they will field experimental sides here and I am going to go for goals. I see this one being an open game and am taking the overs in what should be an entertaining game of ball.
