Another early kickoff as this one comes from Moscow where the temperature is predicted to get to -5'c during the game and one that will ensure plenty of gloves and leggings will be on display. CSKA Moscow come into this one having lost their last four and will need a result in order to give themselves a chance of qualification in a group that is still wide open. A win here will put CSKA on seven point which should be enough for second place if Manchester United beat PSV at Old Trafford. CSKA showed their quality against Manchester United in both games being defensively very sound with Akinfeev in goals a terrific player and leader this side will not give up goals easily. Current Russian coach Slutsky is at the helm here and he can draw on the talents of Doumbia, Musa, Tosic and Dzagoev. This is a talented team that are currently six point clear in the Russian Premier League and will fancy their chances here against Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg come into this game off the back of a strong performance a 6-0 win against Werder Bremen where the goals finally started to flow. With plenty of creativity and attacking talent in the form of Draxler, Schurrle, Dost and Kruse this side will not fear going to Moscow. It's hard to be confident though in a Wolfsburg side that have been very poor on their travels. With five losses in their last six away games something must change for Wolfsburg if they are to qualify for the knockout stages. They probably need a win here too as their last game is a home tie with group favourites Manchester United, a team that is coming into good form and have been very difficult to beat.
This week's fixtures have been very tough to handicap and this is a fine example of the tough to call games, while Moscow are at home they have struggled of late and while Wolfsburg may have the better individuals they have really struggled on the road. I'm going to take CSKA Moscow for a min bet here just based on the fact that they should be far more comfortable given the weather and the fact that they know they must get a win to give themselves a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
