PSV vs CSKA Moscow 8 Dec 2015: Champions League Preview and Predictions
8 December 2015/ 1445
As we approach the final match day in the UEFA Champions League, all is still up in the air in Group B. The first game we will look at is between Dutch outfits PSV Eindhoven who will be hosting Russian giants CSKA Moscow. CSKA are all but out of the competition while PSV need to win to qualify or they will be playing Europa League football after the Christmas.
PSV have been a little inconsistent as of late, especially in domestic football. This side has a lot of talent but sometimes they fail to turn up. This team will know what is at stake when they head into this match and I am sure that there will be a lot of determination among the player. PSV fans will have some breathing room knowing that their team has been great in Europe and they need to beat a team that has not much to play for. I like PSV’s chances going into this match since they will be determined to get through to the next stage since it will be the first time in nearly a decade since a Dutch team has made the knockout stage of the this tournament.
CSKA on the other hand have been very good in domestic football as the lead the Russian League. That being said they have been poor in Europe this year and perhaps they will want to change that and end on a high since a big win might get them a spot in the Europa League. This is unlikely but it will be a goal for the side since Europe is the real challenge for CSKA Moscow.
All in all I think that PSV will get the job done here and win at home. This is a crunch match and I think that the Dutch side will use the power of home support to get over the line. PSV are big favorites going into this match and the odds are not good enough. As a result I will not be betting on the result. The value bet here is taking under 2.5 goals. I think it will be a low scoring game because of the high stakes of this game so that is where my money will be on.
