Napoli vs Hellas Verona 16 December 2015: Coppa Italia Preview and Predictions
16 December 2015/1300ET
The city of Naples will be treated to midweek football as Napoli will be host to Hellas Verona in a Round of 16 clash to determine who will make the quarter finals of the Coppa Italia. Both teams have done well to make it this far in the tournament but one team, that team being Napoli, are an entire level above their opponents. Having said that, this is a knockout fixture and that means that anything is can happen so it could end up being an exciting match.
Hellas Verona come into this match after managing to get a 1-1 draw against AC Milan away from home on the weekend. This team showed a lot of fight in this match and although they were lucky to get one point they will get a lot of confidence from that encounter. This team does not have the best quality and they have not done particularly well this but they will look to experienced players such as Luca Toni to stand up.
Napoli on the other hand come into this match red hot. Although they failed to beat Roma at home, this team is flying high in all competitions and they will be big favorites going into this match. Napoli are heavily reliant on their wide men such as Dres Mertens who have been giving great service to their inform striker, Gonzalo Higuain. If Hellas Verona want to stand a chance then they need to close down the wide players but this is going to be tough considering the form in which these players are playing at.
Overall I think that Napoli will be too strong, especially at home. In my opinion Napoli are one of the best teams in Europe and I think they will show this in this match. As expected, Napoli go into this match as heavy favorites but the odds have slightly improved for us thanks to AC Milan failing to beat Verona. That being said the bet which has value is in the form of the handicap which is set at 2 goals. I think this is fairly set since the previous match between these two sides ended in 2-0. Having said that, the 2-0 Napoli win occurred in Verona so one may assume Napoli will do better at home so I think that taking Napoli +2 is the best value bet. In addition to this, I think that over 2.5 goals in an incredibly safe bet considering how good Napoli are going forward. This line is not paying well but if you want a safe bet it is the way to go in my opinion.
