The game of the weekend in the Premier League will be on Monday night as Manchester City travel to London to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Not only is this the game of the weekend but for me these two are the most likely winners of the league and it will be interesting to see how this game goes head to head. Manchester City have been a little up and down this season but have won four of their last five, exactly the same as Arsenal. The sky blues though have done it without Aguero and Kompany , their best player and their captain respectively. Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne are having brilliant first seasons for Manchester City after their respective moves from Liverpool and Wolfsburg. Wilfred Bony has also started to really effect games and be the center forward he was for Swansea, where funnily enough he always had good success against Arsenal in terms of performances. Manuel Pelligrini welcomed back David Silva a couple of weeks ago and the brilliant Spaniard is going to be a key figure for Manchester City if they are to go on to win the title, his vision and assists will be key and it will be interesting to see how he performs against Arsenal.
Arsenal had a win over Manchester City last seasn at the Ethiad but they drew 2-2 in the Emirates. Arsene Wenger redesigned his team for that win away to City and a key component was the defensive work of Coquelin who protected the back four, broke up City's attacking play and dominated the game. Unfortunately for Arsenal both Coquelin and Arteta are injured leaving Arsene Wenger with the option of Mathiu Flamini, my bet is that the frenchman is too slow for this role and I think there is a good chance he gets sent off if he has to mark Silva , De Bruyne or Sterling. I think that Arsenal will give this a good go though, they have been exceptional of late and have won four of their last five. In their big match ups at home this season the Gunners have risen to the occasion beating Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
I'm going to take both teams to score here. I think these team are well matched and they could well cancel each other out in terms of the result. A draw is probably the most likely outcome and I think 1-1 or 2-2 is possible. This one should be a cracker and I will be settling in for this as one of the games of the week.
