One of the games of the weekend in the Championship comes to us on Friday night as Brentford travel to Brighton to take on a rejuvenated Brighton side who have won their last two after struggling for a period over christmas where they lost five of six. Chris Hughton's side have stopped the rot though and back to back wins has put them firmly in the conversation for the playoffs and with an outside chance of taking the title. Goals have been scarce among the Brighton strikers this season with Zamora seven goals the leader in the squad. Hemed and on loan Manchester United striker James Wilson will provide support for Zamora and Brighton will look to keep spreading the goals around the team and being defensively sound.
Brentford have struggled themselves for consistancy but the Bee's have put together some impressive results of late and will be there of there abouts come the end of the season and the playoffs. I'm not sure that as a whole this squad is good enough to make the jump to the Premier League anyway but they certainly are giving themselves a chance of making the move. Currently eight points off the playoffs Brentford need a couple of wins in a row to get closer and then anything could happen. Goals have been a struggle for Brentfords forwards with midfielder Judge top man with twelve this season.
This one is a good match up and both teams look capable of winning against anyone on their day. I'm confident that both of these offences are going to created plenty of chances here but I have to side with the home team who just look that little more solid. At evens Bighton look a good bet especially considering that Brighton have won ten of their fourteen home games this season.
