One of the controversies surrounding football these days is the cost of going to a game FC Midtjylland have not helped the cause of the clubs by charing Manchester United fans £71 per ticket for the first leg of this Europa tie. There is little doubt that the away side will sell out their allocation though as they have the biggest supporter base in the world and one of the best set of traveling away fans that you will find anywhere. Manchester United though do arrive in Denmark minus their captain as Wayne Rooney is set to miss out on the game, while it hasnt been confirmed by the club yet it is expected due to a knock picked up in the Sunderland game. Darmian the right full will also miss out through injury after dislocating his shoulder last weekend. Van Gaal will have a very young squad in Denmark but Depay will be expected to replace Rooney with a front three of Martial, Depay and Mata. This is still a quallity side and Manchester United will be expecting to pick up the win here.
Midtjylland will look to take another english scalp after knocking Southampton out of the competition in the last qualifying round, a strong team in Denmark Midtjylland have had a meteoric rise, only founding the club in 1999 they won their first league title last season and have been a success story for the decade plus they have been in existance. Matthew Benham owner in chief at Brentford is the majority stake holder in the Danish side and has a history of working with stats to assist in the running of clubs, it seems to have worked here in Denmark where the playing field is possibly leveler and somewhat easier to manufacture success. This side though with Rasmussen, Dueland the tormentors in chief will be tough to beat and their goal threat is more across the team than a single superstar.
The Danish side are currently on their winter break and they face into a really tough task against a Manchester United team who now look at this competition as their best chance of getting a Champions League spot next season. Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is under extreme pressure and I think that he will want to win this game, the injury to Rooney is not a good thing for United and he has been key in their revival of late but Martial is more than capable of deputising. While I think Manchester United are deserved favourites I think the price is short. Manchester United need a win to boost confidence and I am going to take the red devils -1 on the handicap to win here, expect Marital, Mata and Depay to impress here.
